Pretty in Pastel

Following what seemed like a blinding (albeit enjoyable) barrage of neons and brights over the past few seasons, designers have toned down their colour palettes for the season. Light and airy pastels were shown on the runway. Pale pink, lemon and sky blue will be the right choices when updating your wardrobe for warmer weather.

Flashy silk lame, gilt brocade, and slinky chain mail are fabrics typically reserved for a night out, but both ready to wear and accessories designers repositioned metallic for daytime this season. The time to sparkle this coming Spring will be before the sun goes down.

The back of the shoe has become irrelevant this season - the mule is making a triumphant reentrance and it’s taking on a hareem of interesting shapes and sizes. Print & Pattern

For braver dressers, this season is a master class in print - arresting decorative prints. No one can resist a print for spring summer, nor can designers.
